Janina Rossiter is a French-German environmental artist, illustrator, author, and artivist whose work inspires people to reconnect with and protect the natural world. Through illustration, storytelling, exhibitions, and public installations, she explores themes of ocean conservation, biodiversity, and climate awareness, creating art that encourages both curiosity and action.

Her work has been featured at major international sustainability events, including the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, ChangeNOW in Paris, POLITICO Sustainable Future Week in Brussels, the International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC5) in Vancouver, and the World Ocean Week Festival during the UN Ocean Conference in Nice.

Janina believes that art has the power to make complex environmental issues accessible, emotional, and memorable. Whether creating children's books, large-scale installations, educational illustrations, or exhibition pieces, her goal is always the same - to help people fall in love with the natural world, because we protect what we care about.

Her award-winning illustration Mangrove was named Sketch for Survival - Wild Spaces Artist of the Year by Explorers Against Extinction and was exhibited in the Blue Zone at COP26. Her children's book, 1, 2, 3, Who's Cleaning the Sea?, was shortlisted for a P.E.A. Award for its contribution to environmental education.

Beyond her own creative practice, Janina enjoys bringing together people who believe creativity can be a force for positive change. She founded Artivism Chat, a podcast and interview series featuring conversations with more than 60 artists using their work to address environmental and social issues.

Her work has been featured in publications including ECO Magazine, EZDIVE Magazine, Lemon Magazine, and the Hamburger Abendblatt. She has also served as an independent judge for the Coldplay Art Challenge and is a member of The Explorers Club.

Whether through exhibitions, books, workshops, public speaking, or collaborations, Janina continues to explore new ways of using creativity to inspire hope, spark conversation, and encourage collective action for our planet.
