Collaboration with ChangeNOW for the 2024 summit!

Janina Rossiter raises awareness about ocean issues and promotes behavior changes to protect the planet. Through her art, she communicates environmental messages in a universally understandable visual language. She’s also the author and illustrator of best seller children’s books.'
Very proud to be collaborating with ChangeNOW for the summit 2024.
First time I went to ChangeNow was in March 2020 and I immediately fell in love with the mission, the summit and the team! Who are amazing, I also saw a lot of art at the summit and it was only a dream to maybe once exhibit with Change Now.
A dream that came true in 2022, thanks to my friend Nicolas Occhiminuti from Waves of Change Coalition, who recommended my work. Being a speaker on the panel #buildingacultureforchange meant a lot to me as the #schoolartivism is really a heart project.
Change Now as had a huge impact on me and my work and I couldn’t be prouder!

The poster will be all over Paris, in metros, on their website and of course at the Grand Palais Éphémère!
In addition to the official poster, I was asked to design the Change Now TOTEM, which serves as the central logo for the summit. It is a world artwork. I have been working for four months to create artwork using the stippling technique that blends into a colourful and vibrant jungle merging with the ocean.
Very proud to also exhibited the Planet Ocean Gallery as well as having designed the Eiffel Stage window.
ChangeNow Art for Change
Absolutely amazing feeling to see our design collaboration in the Grand Palais Ephémère ! The blue and green sides reflecting throughout the grand palais! Life is a chain reaction : no water - no life - no ocean no us - no blue no green - Dr.Sylvia Earle.
You never know who YOU might inspire - so keep going! Scientists see the urgency to act and artist can help to apply this feeling to the grand public. To transform it into positive action and solutions! We are a team of ocean lovers fighting for the same cause! #teamocean
I especially wanted to play the blue & green ecosystems to highlight our ocean as a source of oxygen. Like with my #schoolartivism yes trees are important but so is our ocean. The symbolism of two trees facing each other: equally important! We must include our ocean when it comes to climate change solutions! The answers are in the blue!
So thankful for this opportunity and eternally grateful to the team! It was amazing to work with them! Everything is so beautiful and just very proud!

It’s honestly so heartwarming to see how many people love the design - how many pictures been taking, questions been ask and immensely proud I can highlight the blue and green ecosystem in such a central art piece. Work that has started 6 years ago and is focus to highlight our oceans - the importance of it - especially when it comes to climate change solution!

Very honoured she took my portait in front of the changeNOW totem, that I was very lucky to design this year! The image feels like taken in a studio but it’s at the summit! A real piece of art!
We call this the Anthropocene,
With burning fuels destroying green.
And still-increasing gas emission
Leaves the sea in dire condition.
If Earth heats up by two degrees.
Can life survive on land? In seas?
We must preserve a living space,
For human beings of every race.
We need to take concerted action,
As our planet needs protection,
So each colour, creed, and kin
Still has a safe place to live in.
We must go forward hand in hand,
And live with nature on the land.

What touched me the most was, that many of you said my work was poetic!
Because It is - From: 1,2,3, who’s cleaning the sea ? To ...green and blue, planet Ocean, me and you!
I try to put all my worries and thoughts and hopes into writing! To use my books as a tool to teach young children how we can build a better world.

🌎 ChangeNOW 2024 ✨the best event!
I truly love it!
As an artist it’s not always easy to find projects you truly love and that aligns with your values! Also not one job follows on by the next. There are periods I don’t know what happens next - like In October 2023 I went to the ChangeNOW job fair to look for new opportunities in art - sustainable collaboration! So thankful I did as there was magic there ✨ Rose-May Lucotte & I reconnected and what came next was the offer of my life! The totem, Eiffel stage, official poster, my books at the book shop & planet ocean gallery
, The totem design is a collaboration of months of work, of different ideas and proposals that then came to its final stage. Working on a scale of 4x4meters wasn’t easy! Especially when the file had to be 300dpi 🤣oh mon dieux ! I was nervous until the last day and it was amazing to watch how it all came together! So no surprise I burst out in tears when I took down my ocean gallery! I thought I had it under control but being called on stage had let out all the emotions again! Thank you for seeing me and my work and the purpose behind it!

About 30 meters x 5 meters and an absolutely stunning room! I love the Grand Palais Ephémère and as a temporary construction it will be for the last time before the Olympic Games 🙏 I feel immensely thankful having been giving that opportunity.

ChangeNOW is absolutely such an amazing place! I have hardly words for the last days! Feeling extremely grateful! But also I feel I spend three days with family - people that feel the urgency - where you simply do not feel like an alien. things got to change! Seeing so many innovations / solutions and overall what got me most was passion & persistence! 🙏💙🌊
